Based on the success of the first round where businessmen from both Hamburg and Dubai worked on ways to enhance mutual cooperation and to explore more business opportunities and activities, the forthcoming Dubai-Hamburg Business Forum is seen as an extended opportunity to review and understand the thriving business cultures and the endless scope of establishing newer partnerships between Hamburg and Dubai as well as Germany and UAE.

The second round of the Dubai-Hamburg Business Forum focuses on providing a platform for establishing contacts and sharing ideas, technical expertise and experiences between the Dubai and Hamburg business communities.

The Dubai-Hamburg Business Forum is organised jointly by the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce and Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The UAE-France Partnership Forum will be held in November in the French capital Paris. It will be organised by the Abu Dhabi Department of Planning & Economy (DPE), Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Dubai Consultations Company.

Hamad Al Nuaimi, Under Secretary of the DPE, told a press conference that the forum will seek to promote strategic partnerships between the companies in the two countries growing the French Emirati business partnership and trade.

Khalfan Al Kaabi, member of the ADCCI’s board of directors, said the UAE-France Partnership Forum aims at opening new avenues for cooperation between businessmen and investors in the two countries.

Noting that French investments in Abu Dhabi registered a significant growth during the past three years, he said trade exchange between Abu Dhabi and France reached AED 2.6 billion in 2006.

Patrice Paoli, Ambassador of France, said about 225 French companies are operating in the UAE.

Waleed Hareb Al Falahi, CEO of Dubai Consultations, said the UAE-France Partnership Forum will be held at the trade centre of the Louvre Museum and expected to be visited by 10,000 to 15,000 people per day.

The forum, scheduled between 21 and 24 November 2007, enjoys the support of many government departments and private companies in the UAE. About 80% of the space of the exhibition, to be held at the forum’s sidelines, has already been booked.
